Hi, I was looking for a good source of info about cnc and I ended up with this forum. I'm a newbie in what concerns to cnc, but I always was resourcefull enough to be able to do whatever I get in my mind.
Lately, the company to whom I work for, aquired a SCM Record 110 al prisma, and there's nobody here that can put it to work. I had never messed with something like that, but I decided to venture and volunteered for the programming and operating it.
The supplier of the machine, offered 2 weeks formation to get us going up, but I was always very concerned with detail, and every day, new questions arise in my mind! The programing was not very difficult to learn, as I am a little addict to computing and everything related, but other problems like the machining itself, tools, working speeds and other aspects, are a little more hard to achieve without some experienced guidance.
Also, I'm not very familiar with the technical terms of the area, especially english terms, as i'm Portuguese, and the words differ extremely.
So, if that isn't too much to ask, I would deeply appreciate if this comunity could help an extreme newbie like me, get this going forward the best way possible!
I thank in advance to all those who will help in the future, and all those who read this thread! I also thank everyone who has the patience and willingness to help out all those like me, who are taking the first steps!
