Hi,

I've been using the assistance of a friend who owned a pattern and mold shop using SurfCam. He is very limited on time now, so I am in the process of learning as much as possible about 3d...fast.
I have a 4896 Shop Sabre CNC router table (3hp Columbo spindle) with a 12" Z for machining my own 3d patterns (for rubber molds and thermoforming). I do my own thermoforming, roto-casting and laser cutting (uls 50watt), but the 3d modeling is not my strong point due to time to learn.... So please bear with me when I ask way too many questions in the future.:)

How do you like the v22? Did you get the regular v22 or the pro v22? I have been working on bobcad, mastercam and solidworks for the last 16 years. I have not upgraded to v22 yet and not sure I will because the v20 works fine for what I use it for.

I have a full version of 21 with bobnest and bobart pro (3seats) that I am going to sell if you need it. I just got the regular v22 with 2 dongles, and bob art pro. So far I really like the 3d drawing interface, but I am new to it. I am going to upgrade to the pro version as soon as I sell the v21 I have. I only used the v21 a little before upgrading to v22 but I like it. I am learning so.....

I still have access to surfcam for a while. I'm just trying to get up to speed on v22 quickly. I was going to sell the complete package of v21 and use the money to upgrade my v22 from the regular edition to pro. I also have a friend that uses Key Creator that we run g-code on for my machine. Anyway, I didn't join with the purpose of selling the v21, but figured since I was here getting info I would let everyone know it was available instead of putting it on E-Bay. I don't even know what the package is worth. I paid about $1,600 with 3 seats, bobart pro, bobnest, training cd's, ect. If you know what it's worth let me know.

Over the next couple of weeks I will probably be asking a lot of questions though.

Thanks, Norman

Norman, I'm new to bobcam as well. I'm sure we will have alot of the same questions. I have V22 and.....well.... everything else they tried to sell me. Z rough, virtual predator, tech support until dooms day.... I'm having post processor issues. If anybody is using V22 with an Anilam 3300MK I have questions....

I bought a new Haas SL10 and Bar 300. I have been running V21, but the lathe side is weak. Started with V18 and had every update version sense. So I call BobCad and” get The Treatment" I end up with V22 Lathe, the throw-in Predator stuff level 1 and three dongles, with training videos.
Load the V22 and spend 2 day watching videos, get up to speed, but my computer keep crashing (digitaltigers, dual core 2, 2.6 w/ 4 gigs ram) a fast machine. I keep getting “Insufficient Resources”. So I Call Tech support (3 Times and get three different stories), but not before they charge me another $200.00+ for 12 months, (something that was left out of the conversation when I “Got the Treatment”) to repair this problem. I was told that the design team was aware of this problem. I ask for the patch and was told “There is not one”. This is a problem with the REDO and UNDO feature, the stack in the program keeps growing until the RAM is used up. On my machine this means Hard Boot. The “fix” from Tech Support was to every so often when you are drawing to save and close the program, then reopen, this will clear the stack, “Gee what a great feature, and you get it free.

I’m done with BobCad and their sale tactics.

Thanks - neilw20

The links are very interesting and only confirm what I have suspected about BobCad. Money sent to BobCad is like a boat, “A hole in the water in which to throw money!”

G90,

I am sorry to hear you are having issues. I may be able to help. PM me your contact info and I will call you to see whaat I can do.

orizaba,

What type of posting issues are you having? Same for you, PM me your contact info and I will see what I can do to help.

As I have stated before, I do work for BobCAD and have for several years. I can likely help where others are unable, just because of how much I work with it and my background.

G90,

Hello, is it just me or was your post edited to remove the good stuff you had to say in regards to OneCNC. What's the deal here? Why would positive comments regarding a non BobCAD product be removed from this forum?

We have heard good things in regards to OneCNC. Will this post also now be edited to remove the OneCNC comment?

Wow. That is out and out shady. Billing you another $200 to tell you to save often?!?!?! All because they can't code worth a damn. This is pushing fraud here.

I have 21 and have got several calls to upgrade to 22. Thank GOD I didn't do it.
