What size is your plasma table? Water table or not? Mongkol DRL 03-18-2008, 10:28 AM I like it, I'm a big fan of KISS. Your V-wheels and inverted angle for the X axis are great. How did you fasten the angle to the frame, weld? Did you make the V-wheels or where did you get them. DRL plasmaplasma 03-18-2008, 09:24 PM - Machine is 4x4 cutting area and 5.5x5.5 footprint. It is build of 3x3 rect tubes 1/8 wall. - Those V wheel are from BCbearing, and expensive 90$ each. I wanted to order it from mcmastercar company but they are not shipping to Canada! http://www.cadcamcadcam.com - Gantry dualvee bearing http://www.martinsprocket.com/ - Open ended belt L type 3/8 pitch and pulley http://www.mcmaster.com/ source for wheels SNERLAND 03-18-2008, 10:17 PM What kind of linear bearing on the gantry? plasmaplasma 03-19-2008, 07:05 PM http://www.cadcamcadcam.com SNERLAND 03-19-2008, 09:05 PM If you clamp something, hanging down about 10 inches, to the shuttle, simulating a plasma torch, and put a dial indicator to it, how much deflection do you get? Syd plasmaplasma 03-19-2008, 10:27 PM I hope I will connect belt and motors next week, so I can try it. I plan to build water tray and distance between material and gantry will be about 5" or less. Machine is maybe to high. I will have manual THC, with UP and Down switch, and speed adjusting knob. With a simple DC motor. |
