Any real difference between the two? I have recently aquired a mid 90ish Hitachi Sieki HItech-turn20sII with a yasnac LX3 control. The thing is a picky critter to say the least.

There is a huge difference. The Hitachi Seiki's were built from an assortment of parts all supplied by different manufacturers. As you may already know, Mori bought the rights to Hitachi Seiki, but Hitachi themselves are out of business and finding parts and qualified repair personnel is getting very hard.

IMHO, a Mori is a night and day difference when compared to the HS.
