Here's a video of a plasmacam unit on Youtube.
I think the speed of the video has been doctored.
What do y'all think? Even the sound seems a little "speedy" to me.

looks legit to me, lasers are even faster, granted that's a VERY powerful plasma machine. Either way that sprocket wouldn't go on my motorcycle!

Looks legit to me as well..
Well I guess I'm the only one.
It just didn't sound right to me even. Like I mentioned, the sound just seems a tiny bit "higher" in pitch.
What do I know.
BTW, isn't that a handtorch for the Hypertherm 1250?
I've got that same machine (but with a machine torch) hooked to my Dynatorch. And I'm pretty sure I'd never cut that fast.
What gauge sheet is that? Maybe 20ga?

The speed looks right to me....I've worked for Hypertherm for 30 years! You can cut 24 gauge at 450 inches per minute......that looks like maybe 18 or 20 ga......probably will cut at around 300 ipm at about 30 to 35 Amps with the Fine Cut nozzle.

Jim,
I didn't know you were over here.
I used to see you post on the PIGinfo board years ago when I had a plasmacam.
Would you mind if I PM'd you about some settings and observations with my Hypertherm 1250?

I have the same plasma cutter as you for my DT, though i'm not up and running yet, i wouldnt mind hearing what you have to say about it, also that vid looked sped up to me too, i looked at it on youtube before and thought the same thing comparing it to other vids by PC, even comparing it to the demo disc they sent me.

Look ok to me also. That looks like 16 gauge to me. While cool to watch not much use for a gear cut out of 16gauge.
Dang Jim I hope they are paying you to crawl all these forums !! Do you every sleep? :)

Plasma runs through my veins. I have always liked melting stuff.
