can someone recommend a good grade of "V" shape tips and speeds and feeds for turning 30mm diam cast aluminium alloy grade LM24 removing 1mm a side for 28mm diam with a 0.5 to 1.5 surface finnish. I am hoping to use one pass as there are hundreds to do on my old Yamazaki cnc lathe max spindle speed 2000 rpm

Were you able to sort this out?

If not you may want to consider a C2 uncoated carbide insert or something that looks like this:

Only in a V style.

Send me a PM if you have any questions.
