Hi!

I'm a senior student at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (http://portal.bme.hu/langs/en/default.aspx) and I'm doing my dissertation.
I need to design a universal pallet system that can be used on both EDM and milling machine tool.
It's very hard to get any information about this subject.

If you can give me some infos please do it!!:)

I've already had 2 consultation with my "mentor" or I don't know how to describe the man who gives me the instructions at the firm that announced this dissertation title. And now I'm a little bit confused. I'll try to explain why:
On a mill the pallet is the table that you can put the fixture on, so the workpiece is on the pallet.

As for the EDM:
There are two types of tooling that can be used on a die sink system. The first is palletized tooling on the Z-axis ram, which is used to hold the electrode. The second type of tooling that can be used on a die sink system is on the table.
The first type is the one that relates to my project.

So I Cant see this. :(
I don't really understand it. These 2 equipment are totaly different. How could a pallet like on the EDM picture work on a mill as a pallet. It's way beyond me.
It's ok that I can clamp the electrode holder to the mill machine to mill the electrode. But as it's in the mill then it works as a fixture and not as a pallet. Or am I wrong?

I know that my english is not best but I hope you could understan what I wanted to say.

I hope there is somebody who can help and explain this thing to me!

Thank you very much in advance!!

If you look here it also has a table pallet on the EDM. Maybe that's what he means.
