Have been lurking for a while trying to get a handle on the basics as I have no background in machining etc. I have just acquired the Rockcliff plans so I thought I would introduce myself before asking questions.

I am currently living in Reading, Berkshire. My background is in software development for the last 30 years, the last 16 in mobile telecoms. I recently reactivated an interest in electronics playing with the AVR microcontroller and thought I'd combine this with computing to do something creative.

I intend to start with wood/router projects initially.

I am looking forward to learning more about this fascinating subject and after looking around for a while I'm sure this forum is the best place to start.

Definately, this site has given me a wealth of information- I'm the only person who CADs and machines at my place so there's no- one to ask when I get stuck :)

Oh, I use to live in Basingstoke, just up the road from you in Reading so welcome to the boards n stuff!

Hi, I'm in Dorset and just built a wood router and ground to a halt with the electrics, but just posted a couple of questions so hope to get moving soon.
have you started building yet?
Simon.
