Can anyone suggest where to find them? CarveOne 02-26-2008, 08:33 AM Google on Stick Fonts and you will find this proprietary one, and some others: http://www.2linc.com/engraving_software_single_line_stick_fonts.htm CarveOne harryn 02-26-2008, 12:38 PM I guess it depends what a person calls "reasonable". $ 350 for a program that writes letters, when the entire Mach III capability is $ 150 ? I did not look, but you would sort of expect V carve to includes something like that. bclark6716 02-26-2008, 01:44 PM V Carve does include stick fonts in version 4 joecnc2006 02-26-2008, 02:16 PM V Carve does include stick fonts in version 4 Yes V-Carve pro does have that feature, you can have true type fonts or what is called single line text, you just click the option. Joe Cartierusm 02-27-2008, 02:12 AM Why don't you make your own? I do. My basic process is I take a font I like in let's say Adobe Illustrator then I save it as a tiff. Then I bring it into an old Adobe Program, which I think might exist somwhere in one of the photo programs, called Streamliner and it converts the text to either with a centerline or outline. Whichever I like. blackbeard52 02-27-2008, 07:43 AM here is a free font engraver lite.ttf hope it helps.... just google engraver font and sit back with a cup of java....(and spam busters) Cant beat vcarve for this type though Also if you look at the bottom of the page that carveone sent there is a PDF of all those fonts...........huh huh Bob CarveOne 02-27-2008, 06:54 PM here is a free font engraver lite.ttf hope it helps.... just google engraver font and sit back with a cup of java....(and spam busters) Cant beat vcarve for this type though Also if you look at the bottom of the page that carveone sent there is a PDF of all those fonts...........huh huh Bob Free certainly fits my definition of reasonably priced. I wasn't suggesting that $349 was a reasonable price, merely flaging the fact that it was proprietary and at the time I posted we didn't have a clear idea what Mr. Goodman considers to be a reasonable price. If it is exactly what I need and it's a tax deductible business expense, then it too will fit my definition of reasonably priced. I much prefer free though. CarveOne blackbeard52 02-27-2008, 07:53 PM Yes I agree nuttin like a new tool to polish no matter what the cost...... I was referring to the PDF being free for conversion............. Bob jcc3inc 02-28-2008, 09:25 AM Sir, I agree with the earlier post for: http://www.2linc.com/engraving_software_single_line_stick_fonts.htm Looking at their (7) fonts priced at $50 seems reasonable. I assume they are scalable and otherwise completely usable. Regards, Jack C. PS:!!! Just re-read the source above; you will need to buy their $349 main package ALSO!! Sorry I didn't catch all the details the first time! TOTAL COST = $399 ! ! ! CarveOne 02-28-2008, 05:31 PM Yes, that was the reason for the proprietary software warning. They only work with that software. There were other links that may lead to stick fonts that are not proprietary and are less expensive or free. They're out there and you just need to use the right search key words to find them. CarveOne |
