Hello, I am in the process of purchasing TurboCad. I was wandering if you are satisfied with TC and TCC? Thanks, James

I have v.12. I am new to CAD-CAM and found the CAM help rather lacking. I ended up buying a used copy of BobCAD that came with the training CDs.

Speedster,

we use TCC11. TCC is an addition to TC and it shows. We use it for the CAM work and for engraving codes and it works well. The features and the number of available postprocessors are somewhat limited though. We ended up setting up our own Post Processor for a EMC2 solution, which is possible within their CNC setup.

Bottom Line: It was worth the 250.- that we paid for it on ebay. If you are not sure, whether you can setup the Post Processor, search for a product that has it available. If you want to get fancy you will have to invest more money.

You can get TC and CAM on ebay for a pretty resonable cost. There are also training books for a fraction of the normal cost. I have been using TC for many years and it has way more function that I can touch. It has been compared to higher end CAD but much lower cost...even more so if you get an older version. After you register the older version...you can save big time on upgrades.
The CAM may be a little cumbersome to a newbie, but has a lot of features. You basically build your own post processor (they claim you don't need one...but you are indeed making one when you set up your machine). Also includes a DNC program to send code to your machine...which can be an additional expense if you need that.
Main thing is that it is a lot of bang for the buck...getting older versions.
Just to be clear...I am new to the CAM...so maybe not the best source for critic.
Being a dutiful software user, I installed the v12.5 update patches from TC's website. Use the CAD a little...but just recently started playing with the CAM and found issues. Just heard today that they recreated my issues and need to repair the defect. Right now, I reinstalled back to v12.2 , (after locating and deleting all the V12 folders and files), reinstalled the CAM...and it appears to work OK. With the patch, Render did not work, green removed material lines were not visable, gray part lines did not look like a box, only a single vertical line. At least with the 12.2 I can play through the tutorials...hopefully set up to my machine and make something.
