Hello,
I am new to Mach 3,and am retrofitting a Bridgeport type Knee Mill.
It has a exsisting control that is old and VERY weak.I am using the glass scales as encoders, and i already have the encoder board from rogers machine.Scales work great with Mach 3 as a DRO.Have not put Mach 3 control on machine and tested steppers yet,but have everything i need.Just waiting for machine to get "freed up" to do so.
I altered the original Mach 3 screen sets, and that is about all i know how to do as far as customizing Mach 3.
I am wanting to be able to use this machine as a 2 axis with Z axis DRO and also a full 3 Axis.Example ( Prototrack) If doing a bolt hole program in 2 axis (and blind holes) X and Y needs to stop at each point and wait with stepper motors "energized" or holding position, and waiting for me to hit Cycle Start to go to next point or hole.Z axis needs to be able to give DRO while running a program.
As of now to use as a DRO on all axis i need to be in Settings screen and RESET.
Brian at Mach 3 said that this can be done, and suggested i try here to see if i could find someone. As i know he is busy and dont want to bother him anymore than i already have:)Thanks again Brian:)
