OK I have gotten my screws and it seems i have about .001 on the y axis and about .0035 on the x is this normal for the cheap HIWIN rolled ballscrews or should i keep messing with it .Man i have shimmed tighten and everything a million times. this is a old bridgeport maybe a 1957 i just put the screws in about 2 months ago and i just cant seem to get it down to zero backlash any ideas OR IS THIS AS GOOD AS IT GETS. I only have the x-y " old centroid brackets" done im still making the z axis

Ground screws are always better than rolled if both are made by reputable people. Check the specs on your screws and see what the cumulative error can be over the length of the screw.
Where is the backlash? If the play is between the ball nut and screw, there is not much you can do about it. If the screw is moving in and out relative to the table (X) or knee (Y) then you have a bearing or stack-up issue.

machintek so you thinnk i should be able to get better results

I was wondering if my screw has a lead accuracy is .002 per ft. With .0015 backlash is that acceptable or is that still to much on my x axis, and .001 on my y axis i know in my ealier post i said .0035 im sorry that was a mistake it is .0015 i just dont want to spend another month trying to fix something that cant be fixed with what i have
