A Super MiniMill with the 10,000rpm spindle, raised Z axis and a 20 tool side mount changer could be a good machine for medium volume prtoduction of small parts; you could fit three in the space occupied by two VF1 or 2. But I'm looking at Mori, Daewoo, Matsuura, Makino, Niigata, Toyoda and Kitamura 500mm 6 or 8 pallets, for now. Expandable of course. Probing, yada yada. We want to be able to go lights out in two years. So, tell me about tool management, tool breakage, how does it handle redundant tools? Tool magazines expandable? I need 180 min.
