My partner and I am looking for a good used late model CNC Mill. It will run about ten to twenty hours a week and mostly on aluminum. We are hoping to stay under $10k so we can pay cash. I prefer an industrial machine like a Bridgeport, Haas, Fadal over new "Hobby' machines like Tormach, industrial hobbies Etc...

We are opening a small custom gun parts manufacturing company so high speed is not required but it needs to be easy enough for someone (me) with basic CNC experience to use.

I have a full shop of manuel equipment now but would also entertain buying another good lathe of around 14 x 30.

Thanks for any help,

JIM

I dont know about price but I run both A trak DPM & a Lagun vertical mills with Prot-Trak on machine programing they are both very good machines and prot-trak mx3 is very easy to learn. You may be able to find something on e-bay

you should consider a new haas. a couple of grand down and a grand a month and you get a brand new machine with a service agreement and a great resale price. for example. I was looking at mini mills on ebay. 2004 went for around 25k. a new one is 30k. i didn't want a payment but the added capacity should more than make the payment.

I saw a mill for sale at a local salvage company...It was not salvage; a company hired the salvage yard to sell it as they were closing. I will be there today and will inquire about it. I know it is a Bridgeport CNC but no more details. I appears in great condition with no dents or damage noticed...

Thank you Blackbeard. That would be a perfect machine for what I need to do.
