I picked up a Benchmaster knee mill several years ago and always wondered if it could be converted to CNC. Can anyone point me in a direction for gathering necessary info and parts for such a project? I've setup and operated CNC's for 5+ years but haven't got a clue as to what's needed to do a conversion. Thanks.
Alnicov,
welcome to cnczone! There's a few people on this site that has done these conversions successfully, they now have very nice toys to play with LOL!
I bet you it won't be long before you will get to know them....

Sorry, I forgot to mention: the cnc router forum has lots of info on the subject of CNC projects, you can also check out the very professional conversion IJ did on his turret mill (one of the most recent conversions).

Thanks Klox. I've already picked up plenty of ideas from browsing around. The IJ thread is quite informative, nice job IJ. This is an amazing resource, the originator(s) are to be congratulated. Looks like I'll be clearing some space in the cellar for making a wood router too!
