I aquired a old makino machining center.

It has 3000c controls and a fuji dsr 83 spindle control, with a fuji ggg 31386 motor.

I am retro fitting the controls to rutex. Does anyone know something about the spindle motor, and drive?

I am mostly interested in motor wiring. I am convenced it is a series motor with 5 wires, 3 to the field.

any ideas?

Not familiar with that particular motor, but I would be very surprised if it was a series motor for a spindle, more than likely shunt wound.
Most of the older DC spindles were 3 phase SCR drives.
What HP is it?

The motor it 5.5/7.5kw 0r around 10hp. there is a 4 speed trans under it. i hooked the motor up to dc and it runs. I tried the kbcc225r last week, and it blew the fuse. the field now measure 22 ohms. the drive has connections for motor thyristors. This is a very large machine. anyone need 3000c stuff?

SCR Silicon Controlled Rectifier, it generally pre-dates PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) drives.
One advantage is you do not need a large DC supply like you do with PWM.
Using a a phase shift control method, it uses the controlled rectifiers in a full wave bridge to vary the AC input energy to the DC motor.
