View Full Version : WAVY " x " cut Paul Maguire 01-02-2008, 07:54 PM Anyone tell me how to rectify a wavy or jumpy cut on my Multi-cam CNC router........ only in the x the y is fine...... Greolt 01-02-2008, 09:12 PM You probably need to give some more detail but here is my guess. This happens when the X axis is moving and the Y axis is holding still. The Y motor is hunting back and forth when it should be motionless. Hence the wavy cut. This will be a servo drive tuning issue. That's my guess. :) Interesting to see if it's right. Greg SCRAPWOTSCRAP 01-03-2008, 12:46 PM It could very well be a maintenance issue.....bearings!! When is last time your grease gun mated with x axis bearings??? Inspect them.....I had a Multicam doing same thing.....bearings were shot. Replaced them and all was ok. When I see similar bad cuts now, I chastise the production guys for not doing their scheduled maintenance, rails also need to be kept clean and greased. I have 3 Multicams here.....seems the bearings last about 4 to 5 years of heavy duty production, based on my experience. Worth a try.....always try the cheap fixes first. Good luck! |
