Machine is an Okuma Captain-L370 with an OSP-P100 control. Can G76 commands be performed so that say 1/8" x 45 degree chamfers can have a .010" radius at the start and end of the chamfer?

Hi try to help, G76 can not chamfer, u have to use G75 example: (in mm) G75 L1 makes a champfer of 1mm, and it is alltime 45 degrees. 2. to rund the champfer u have to go the folloing way. Example 1mm champfer roundet with r 0.1 outside g1 A90 G76 L0.1 G1 x20 Z-1 A135 G76 L0.1 G1 z- thats the only way i know Moparmatty 12-19-2007, 07:27 PM Thanks. Never thought of doing that way. I'll give it a try. Matt throttle_jockey 03-18-2008, 04:14 PM You won't get a radius at the beginning of the chamfer, just at the end. You could do it this way though: .01 rads on a .125 x 45 deg chamfer, the OD of the part will be 4.000 inches. G0G42X3.7(rapid down and start cutter comp) G1Z0.F.005(feed into face of part just below start of chamfer diameter) G76X3.75L.01(automatic radius of .01 on a 3.75 diameter) G1G76X4.00A135L.01(automatic radius .01 at the end of 45 deg move) G1Z-1. This will give you .01 rads on your edge break. Remember that the angular commands begin zero at the 3 o'clock position, 90 is at 12 o'clock, 180 at 9 o'clock and 270 at 6 o'clock. The OSP control is very powerful, especially in the turning world. I would be happy to give you more help with the programming if you'd like. Cheers, Brian |
