I've been using the cheap HF 4x6 for some time now. While it does it's job and all, I need something that can cut.... more SQUARE.
Also, some stocks I want to cut can be as thin as 1/8"... (or am I dreaming?)
Typically I am cutting round stock of 1.5" diameter copper or .5x2" copper blocks.
I really don't like idea of resurfacing every time on mill for stock (at least the part where it need to handle a lot of due to squarness issue)
I am wondering what bandsaw would minimize resurfacing procedure while keeping it (I am on budget... maybe up to $1k would be it).

This is another option I've been thinking... (I am local to it sort of... about 70 miles drive). Would something like this cold saw be better choice than bandsaw?

FYI cold saws work extremely well on soft material - for what it is worth.
Your budget is very small to really step up much in cut quality.

A high speed carbide blade saw (kinda like a chop saw) may be a good buy for you. Dewalt has a nice 1 with 14" blade. They cut very fast as well.
