Journeyman 320- convert or junk it?
I have a journeyman 320, wih a Miltronics Centurion IV control. The machine has been acting up, and this control is an obsolete unit, I'm told.

Is this practical to convert to an Ajax control, for someone of limited electronics ability?

The machine base itself is very robust, and the ways are in very good condition.

It has Gould servos on all three axes, tach on the motors, belt drive to the screws, with encoders on the screws.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Also, can I re-use my servos, transformers, power supplies, relays, etc? Does it make sense to re-use this equipment, or go for new?

I have the Gibbs System for Cad/Cam, and is this a compatible with Ajax?

The Tree is an incredibly well built machine.
It is worth keeping if mechanically sound.
FAGOR makes a 3 axis kit for $12k (for a standard knee mill) that should be adaptable.
IMO this is well worth the money.
