Ok I'm now in need of a four jaw chuck, for my 8x12. What are some recomendations?
I see littlemachineshop has a adapter plate but no Chuck
Lathemaster lists nothing separate on his site but they do come with his version.
Fignoogle lists that HF can get them but has anyone ordered the one they offer?

Could I fit a 6" on there? It might come in handy one day

Little machine shop has them #2338 for chuck or #2346 with backplate. A 5" will fit on the 7x series lathes so with an inch more swing you should be able to spin a 6" in theory. It might be alittle hard on the motor on startup though. From what I have seen and read about all of the cheaper chucks are made by the same factory so one from LMS or HF would most likely be the same chuck. All I have seen have a little planet logo on the face. Bison has some nice chucks if you dont mind paying a little more. I dont know for sure about the 6" though since I dont have one just my 2 pennys.

For all you 8x12 guys
I ended up getting a 5" 4 jaw and adapter from lathemaster for $89 shipped. Since I was ordering, I purchased the trick gear reduction pulley too... Hopefully I can try out my new toys soon.
