I am trying to get my feet wet with cutting some basic shapes on a 3 axis router. I have some 2D flat .dxf files. I cant for the life of me figure out how to do this. I am working in a lab at college. The computer there has FeatureCam and GibbsCAM but I cant seem to get either to work with a 2D dxf. What does everyone here used to get drawings into a cutable form?

I don't work with gibbscam or featurecam but I see no one has replied......so, I would think you would have to "import" the dxf rather than open it....then save it within either, then apply the cam software to that file. If the dxf files are somehow poor or corrupted you may have some repairing (drawing) to do. DXF files that originate as art files and are exported as dxf can have some nasty little abnormalities when viewed closely. If you are more specific with your problem there are many here to help.
