we have a okuma es4020 vertical machining centre with a
short memory, the control is a osp-u10m is there a way of dripfeeding long programs
through the rs232 port with another computer?

I believe you need Okuma's DNC-B option.

Yes, you need to purchase the DNC-B option, which is a separate board / port to connect to. You will also need the software to have the Okuma B protocol.

Cost for the board is about $4K and up, software is about $1,500.
