As the title says! Right now I have about a 30,000 lb. boat anchor. The Mitsubishi Meldas 5000C control will not accept input at all. We have tried loading the executive tape several times, but to no avail. I sure could use a good Mitsubishi service technician!

I had the same thing happen to me with an MCV 500 ( with the meldas 5000c )
the guys at the Canadian Mitsubishi technical help center ( missisauga ON ) were really knowledgeable about the system..... make sure the backup battery has voltage (this is where our problems stemmed from )..... we have since retrofitted the control with a camsoft system

I don't know, but I believe it's just a 5000c. Does it make a difference?

5000c has green display
5000c2 had orange display.
sometimes there are a couple little tricks to reload paramter tape.
does tape start to move or does it just run thru?

I called my buddy up and he said he can only take care of SC and GA. He said he could get smacked around for stepping on someone else's turf. Sorry guy's.

did you ever make any progress getting your machine fixed?

If I can recall, from many years ago when I used to service these controls. If you short out the resistor (with a jumper wire) that is in the tape reader light source, (it's on a little PC board that is the light source) then put the light source back into the reader and try to read the tape again. By shorting out the resistor it will cause the lamp to run much brighter. This is a little trick to get the tape to read. After the tape loads, remove the jumper. You may have to manually enter some values in the parameter screen, but that is self expanitory.

As it has turned out several other problems occurred and in solving those this 605 alarm is gone. The b axis gain was making the servo motor oscilate. We disassembled the motor from the machine and swapped resolvers and eventually found no mechanical problem. We turned the servo axis card gain to the minimum and the motor worked and the alarm went away. The problem left here is the b axis moves about 130 degrees when 90 degrees is commanded. The read out on consoles says 90 degrees is moved. This may be the result of swapping the resolvers. If you are using a similar machine you could be very helpful by just explaining how the pallet changer is suppose to move.
