My new little sharp cnc does more sitting then being used at the moment and the standard coolant seems to need alot of maintainence. Hate that smell too. Is their a problem with using pure mineral cuting oil as a coolant? Does it act as a good lubracant as well and keep the machine clean?. I'll be cutting mostly aluminium, and some mild steel. I now it would cost more but wouldn't it last longer.? what are the main reasons not to use it? I know they use pure oil in the carbide grinding industry and it sure kept the machines cleaner then the water base. Just woundering the pros and cons. Thanks
