Any experts out there?
VQC external corner probe saves values in an offset like G54, in addition to values in variables #185, #186, and #189. Line G68 X#185Y#186R#189 calls those variables as a point of rotatation and angle when entered into code. This, I believe, is true and correct. I'm not so sure that there isn't a problem elsewhere.
My testing has shown that a pre-existing number in the G54 offset will be subtracted from the new G54 actual, and input into #185 and #186 variables. Run external corner probe again, the variables approach zero, your offset values will remain the same. It does seem to follow its path if you verify that these numbers approach zero, it's off maybe an inch otherwise.
The object of this exercise is to make it unnecessay to indicate everthing straight on the table. It's kind of difficult to move something that has been tacked down with carpet tape.
Do I have a point or have I driven myself crazy? Any suggestions or additional verification would be helpful.
