View Full Version : deepgroove1 step dir for mach3

just got my taig cnc mill from deepgroove on ebay wondering if anyone using this setup could give me their step and dir pin numbers, i just hooked it up and tried to jog the x y in demo mach 3 and using the arrow keys right and left seem to move table left only the up down are changing the numbers in mach 3 but no movement here

from this site i found that he uses xylotec drivers and a link to their faq

STEP X - Pin 2
DIR X - Pin 3
STEP Y - Pin 4
DIR Y - Pin 5
STEP Z - Pin 6
DIR Z - Pin 7
STEP A - Pin 8
DIR A - Pin 9

not really sure anymore if what i posted above is true?
why im wondering is i was trying to use the jog feature in mach3
and noticed the z+ would be plunging into material
and z- head and tool moves up and away from table.
Is this or am I wrong? i thought it was the other way around
z- meant flying chips. did i miss a step in setup or is it a wiring issue

Go to Config, and set your system hotkeys the way you want them.....

Can change alot in there

Under homing and limits check the reverse check box for that axis...

OK....go to ports and pins....motor output and check or uncheck the dir low and step low for z and save and try again

the dir low changes direction on the axis....it will work

I had a taig for 3 years ...Great little machine...

I just upgraded to a Syil Super X3

just got mine, same set up from deepgroove1 I can't get any thing to move.
I can't get anything to move how did you get the mach 3 to know there was a device ready to work
