Hello,
I just ordered my Syil X3. It should be here this week, I cant freakin wait! I didnt order any endmills. Can someone suggest a good set of endmills to get me started. I figure I will start with wood and move my way up to steel. Steel is my goal. I am interested in a general set and a tapping set. DO you have a favorite bit, cutter, mill, let me know.

Thanks
Joe

well as a rule of thumb any good set of beginer end mill are those box of hss end mill with end mill ranging from 1/8 to 3/4 in + or - 1/8 increment they normaly go for cheap and they will give you enough running time to experiment most of them are available in kit of 20 mill (10x 2 flutes and 10x 4 flutes) or in kit of 10 where you get 10 2 flutes or 4flutes
if you have a project allready in mind and you know you only will need 4 mill i would go for 4 of better quality they will last you longer and will cut better

a kit like this (http://cgi.ebay.ca/20-HSS-TIN-COATED-COAT-2-4-FLUTE-END-MILL-SET-MILLS_W0QQitemZ330186021961QQihZ014QQcategoryZ25260QQtcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) on ebay is a good example of a starter kit

as for favorite i like niagara cutter/microshield but they dont come cheap at depending on the coating 15$ to 35$ for a 4flutes 1/4 inch carbide end mill but those cut true steel lkie butter

lets just say i am in the mood for xmas send me you addy true private message and ill send you two niagara cutter by the mail this should get you going in your steel work
