Does anyone have any experience with Prazi lathes?

Also, are spindle sizes sucn that standard assesories can be used?

I have a Prazi SD400 9" lathe. The lathe uses a DIN 550217 chuck mount system. While this is a European standard system, it is not readily available in the US and used chucks are thin on the ground. Bison lists some backing plates that will work with some of their chucks; it is easier to deal with the importer. The chuck uses three studs to allow positive attachment in either direction. Prazi accessories are of high quality, and you sure pay for it.

The taper in the spindle of my lathe is an MT3, and the tailstock is an MT 2, so you can use any morse centers, etc. For collets, either use an Ericson ER-25 setup with a 3 MT holder, or buy the special chuck from the importer.

The motor is a DIN standard as well. I have converted my lathe using a Leeson metric form factor motor (71 size) and controller.
