Hay guys just got in a 07 sl-20. I am also having trouble holding tolerence. My machine is jumping around .0025 up and down. Tech says it may be thermal issue but the thermal # stays around 74deg on the x axis all day. Anybody have any advice. Thanks

you might have backlash in the X-axis . Check it with an indicator ... use a mag base and indicator .. put it on the turret .. have the indicator up against something solid in the chuck .. jog it ten clicks (.001) one way and ten back .. should repeat within .0001
If you are using insert tooling have you checked that the insert is seated correctly and tight. I wasted a lot of time and worry chasing a tolerance issue with a lathe and eventually found the insertt was moving; it would rotate slightly one way during a facing cut and then the other way when turning.
It sounds like it is a new machine so you should have the dealer look at it; just check for simple things like I mention above to avoid embarassment :).
