Rhodan 11-06-2007, 05:28 PM Hey, those are nice!
I'm wondering, do you have any Arabic Caligraphy? I just discovered this art form in the last couple of weeks while looking for a persian tile pattern (gift for an Iranian friend). I have to say I was floored by how beautiful many of the pieces I saw were.
Places like www.arabiccalligraphy.com and http://artsedge.kennedy-center.org/pakistan/arts-of-pakistan/calligraphy.htm have examples of jaw dropping writing.
I can't help but think some of these VCarved in wood would be spectacular.
Khalid 11-06-2007, 11:45 PM Yes I will try today some Arabic Caligraphic art to put here...
Khalid 11-07-2007, 02:24 AM Here u get
High Seas 11-07-2007, 03:06 AM Khalid - so cool to have some neat clip art to work with - the Arabic is a great addition! I was hoping you'd provide some. Wonder if you could also give a background - or translation on less obvious clips- don't want to offend my "older neighbors" if I post something on the door - only to find out its an "unwelcome-sign."
Best I could find on Kalma was a wiki said:
Finnish goddess of death and decay.
She lives in Tuonela, the Finnish Underworld, and is accompanied by Surma.
Her name means "The Stench of Corpses".
Probably lost something in translation - eh?
Keep up the great work and  Jim
Khalid 11-07-2007, 03:17 AM kalma... mEANING in islam IS:
There is no God except Allah and Muhammad (PBUH) is his prophet. This is the Kalma by reading with heart means embracing Islam..
No offence to anyone....

Khalid 11-07-2007, 03:21 AM Somebody their to carve the clipart and put the images here:-)
High Seas 11-07-2007, 04:00 AM Khalid - I was not suggesting any offense and thanks for the translation. Its so ironic the difference in cultural use of the same names.
You set it right - thanks!
Jim
Sorry no image of carving from me until I get back to the machine!
EMMKAY 11-07-2007, 04:23 AM Hi,

Hamadamj 11-07-2007, 04:31 AM Hi everyone
Therse is a GREAT program that will enable almost anyone to generate great Arabic & Farsi (persian) art pieces
Its name is KELK
Just go and search for it on the net
There is a gallery I think in heir homepage where can download sample works and cut them after cofirting them to DXF
It will export EMF files (Enhanced MetaFiles)
I will try to post some of the items I used from this program
I think its prices is around $ 150
Believe me this program is just amazing/beautiful/wonderfull and CHEAP !!!!!
Go and see for yourself
Hamadamj 11-07-2007, 04:52 AM The link for KELK is

Rhodan 11-07-2007, 11:25 PM I haven't checked yours yet but I did a trace of a lowres bitmap of a piece I really like and played around a bit. This is what I got. (No idea what it says)
Edit: Its a VCarve Pro Preview in case anyone asks.
Khalid 11-08-2007, 12:28 AM Rhodon; gr8 job.can u share this with us?
I will send some more today:-)
Khalid 11-08-2007, 12:31 AM Rhodon .. u like arabic art? How much? What the thing u like in it?
EMMKAY 11-08-2007, 12:34 AM It means.. All that happens comes from Allah
Rhodan 11-08-2007, 01:08 AM Rhodon .. u like arabic art? How much? What the thing u like in it?
Don't know that I like Arabic art in general as I'm not really familiar much of it. I do know that the calligraphy is amazing though. I think what I really like about it is how words are the art. I dabbled with calligraphy in my younger days but nothing in english I ever saw came close to this stuff.
As far as sharing goes, I don't know what it is you want me to share. The piece came from the first website I linked and I just right-clicked ->save picture as. The original is much better of course, I only traced in VCarve and it came out a lot less crisp than even the low res bitmap.

Jason Marsha 01-11-2008, 07:29 AM Hi Khalid,
Excellent mirror carving. Are you allowed to post the eps file or VCarve Pro file? I would like to take a crack at it.
Jason
Khalid 01-11-2008, 01:29 PM Dear Jason, the .crv file is of 4.28MB. If u have Vcarve pro then i am posting the WMF file for your use. If u made any design then please post here:):rainfro:
Jason Marsha 01-11-2008, 02:02 PM Khalid,
Thanks for the file. When I asked for the eps file I was really referring to is this picture in post #30 as I assumed this frame was part of a mirror.
