Having issues machining 440c Stainless Steel heat treated to 55Rc to the core. My problem is milling the bosses flat. I need to hold them flat with in .0015" from one side of the boss to the other side.
Looking for help
Attached pictures is the part in question along with my work holding method.

Are you Machining one side then flipping the part to do the second side??If so you are leaving yourself open to error as is seems you are clamping on a forged surface .......Machining, then reclamping......distortion from Clamping and Machining Pressure (on initial clamping....is there a adjustable clamp support behind the area being Machined to keep the Cutters from killing themselves from vibration).......Also any error in the forging will show as the part is flipped.........Or are you doing both sides in one clamping with a rotating fixture.....(Better chance of Success)........

What are the issues? Tool life? Holding tolerance? Processing? Give us something to go on if you can....
