I found this tutorial on coding4fun (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/default.aspx) , the tutorial includes some basic sourcecode for C# & VB.net 2005, on how to use the inpout32.dll (http://logix4u.net/Legacy_Ports/Parallel_Port/Inpout32.dll_for_Windows_98/2000/NT/XP.html) .

I havn't tried this yet, but it looks cool.

Also you might like to check out the authors blog, he has a lot of cool projects, like my favorite, the "Laser Tracker (http://ashishrd.blogspot.com/2006/12/laser-guided-camera-panner_12.html)".

yep this seems the way to comunicate thru the port but there seems to be little written for the U$B isee that either use four lines and do the step logic yourself or use a geniric chip and send step and dir like kcam i am working on a lathe style prog input revs opticly or in quaduture and output the trackerrod as stepsperev
