I'm a truly newbie here. I would like to ask a question. I've seen several websites seeling photo engraving into gold. I would like to start a simillar business and would like to ask what kind of machine would I have to buy ?

For example - small gold place 1"x1" would have engraved colour photo of someone.

How this can be done? I hope, I didn't ask a stupid question.

I would think acid etch is the way to go here...

In order to engrave into gold and silver, I think you need a YAG laser if I am not mistaken, but these lasers are more expensive than the common CO2 type, which if course will not touch the highly reflective surfaces of gold and silver etc.

Do a google search for gold laser engraving etc, you will soon get some info.
