i need to find out 2 process routes how the toothed pulley in the pic is manufactured for my assignment
they have to be in detail eg material choice, the form in which material arrives, how it is cut, wt machines r used, pros & cons etc also the reason for each of them
need2 hand in my assignment soon help!!

sam831, FYI many of the toothed pulley tooth profiles are proprietary forms. The cutters required to machine them are sold only to licensed shops. Others are "public domain". Usually they are cut on gear cutting machines as Kiwi has mentioned. Very interesting processes, by the way.

Alot of these types of shapes are extrusions. They are made in long bars and chopped up and have the sides spotwelded on. You can buy the extrusions and make your own pulleys
