I recently bought a 6" vise at a yard sale. I have cleaned it up and it is usable but was wondering who the manufacturer was. The jaws are 6 x 2 with a 5/8 square for the handle but did not come with a handle. It also has a swivel base. The jaws are attached with 1/4 x 20 hex bolts with the adjusting rod riding directly in a recess in the back jaw plate. It looks like it may have been hand fitted together because the slide, main body, acme screw and nut all have 29 stamped on them. I can see where a name plate was previously attached on the top of the slide. It could use a new set of jaws but I have not seen that small of a hex bolt used. I was thinking it was an import until I saw the "29" stamp and the hex bolt was not metric. Thanks.
