View Full Version : Rabbit Laser not working
Jim Dornon 10-01-2007, 04:47 PM Hello everyone. Found the forum. Great site. I recently purchased a Rabbit HX6090SC. got it home worked great. The second time I used it the power supply blew. Fan inside was un pluged and over heated. Received a new power supply but not the same. Same wattage but for one of their other machines. They said it would work. Have it installed the way they want it but the laser fires just won't leave the tube ! The laser seems to arc at the metal ring whrer you make the connection for the ground on the laser tube. Any Ideas ? Any one ever hear of this ? I replaced the laser tube with a spare I bought, same thing. Any help would really be great. Thanks, Jim

Laser123 10-04-2007, 12:54 AM Help please.
My new CO2 laser machine has a a working area of 1000mm X 600mm. The software came with the machine is the DSP5.0. The machine only gives about 50% working area around the center of the machine table.
Here is what I want to cut:
E:\WorkingTable.JPG
Then I got this message:
E:\Exceeds working table.JPG
Here is the machine setting at the default setup of the software:
E:\Laser_Machine-Option_Worktable.JPG
Thanks.
I guess I have problem to attach pic here.
lamicron 10-04-2007, 08:37 AM In the software screen Go to file/options/worktable there you can set the size of your table. After that go to printing icon in the software screen and download the config. import the PLT or AI file and download it to the machine.
Use corel 11 to draw export as .PLT . Import to the machine software
Here in the forum to download pictures: go advanced

Please follow these steps:
1- delete all the letters in you drawing except one, ( for example the inner circle of th O letter.
2- click on the 10th button from the left in the button bar, ( zoom to the object).
3-if you cannot see the shape that you left in step 1 filling all the screen that means there are more line outside the working area, check you design.
I hope that helps
lamicron 10-07-2007, 09:36 AM When you receive your machine did it come with the size of the table or it was 900 x600 the input? If so, Did you download the config in the laser output? Because you can have that config in your PC as you say onlu have about 50% of centered working area... please check it
lamicron 10-07-2007, 09:44 AM Jim Dornon, That arc coming out from the tube, check if the welding has picks , if it is not plain, that can make thi current to jump like that.
Other thing is that the tube could have broken the internal conections for the catode and anode.. BE CAREFULL WITH THAT WIRES 20.000 volts there!!!
Jim Dornon 10-07-2007, 10:02 AM Welding pics. Do you mean were I soldered the connection to the laser tube ? Jim
lamicron 10-07-2007, 10:30 AM yes in the anode and catode wires, the weld should be clean , no high points (picks) wire left as a needle, the arc jumps from there

CAT
Jim Dornon 10-13-2007, 07:20 AM Not sure I follow. Can you explain ? Jim
CATastrophe 10-13-2007, 04:12 PM ctrl+y will center all the job then use the "zoom to all object "on top-if there is some job out of the working area it will show it.
if its a dsp offline machine u should download first the machine parameters as a cfg file-all details inside like the working table size......
DID ANY ONE NOTICE A BUG IN THE 5.0 VERSION?
only dspoffline version?once u want to download the file ,on the prossesing part the software jumps out-i am still waiting for solution from the software company.
