Hello All,
I have just completed cutting and machining all the parts for this machine myself. Construction was easy and with a router table the channels were easy to do and accurate. The plan is to build as per the plan set and then as experience or need dictates do updating or perhaps build another machine more to my needs whatever they might be. First time for this and am anxious to see what I can automate for a plan to do some custom lamp building in wood. Exotic woods being expensive, the ability to cut out parts needed with nesting and without wasting material will be super. Will post a picture of the machine at this stage. As for electronics, I'm leaning towards building the boards and power supply and I have an extra computer to dedicate to this project. I went through this learning process with a great deal of reading and a couple of different sets of plans purchased. Initially I wanted to build a machine with all the bells and whistles but decided that a basic model built per the plan would provide the most education and then adding some of the more advanced options would help further my education of CNC. Is anyone out there using Linux for software?
