the only two that i know of is Vcarve (or PhotoVcarve) and ArtCAM... One of them has free demo i believe, but they are not free...

Go to this link and join, then contact the owner. He goes by yohudi here on the zone and if you do a search you will find he has developed a tutorial $20 us to do this with free software.
