I'm going to be needing some clamps for XL timing belts. I don't mean the kind of clamp that clamps the two ends of the belt together. I mean a clamp that will attach the belt to the moving part of the machine.
Been looking online, but haven't really found anything. Any ideas where to find such a thing?
Thanks,
Neil

Is this what you need? They can be mounted to the axis machine base.

Thanks, Wayne. I had seen those clamps at SDP/SI, but it looks as though they would require me to make a hole in the belt for the screw to pass through. I'd rather leave the belt intact if possible. Also, my belts are 10mm wide, and I think SDP/SI doesn't have a clamp that wide.

For belt patterns that are the same tooth and cog, you can cut a piece of matching belt several inches long to bridge the connection between the ends of the belt.
If you are using a continuous belt, place the cut belt on the continuous belt so it cogs.
Then bolt a flat plate over top of the overlapped pieces to secure it to your machine.
Bolt the flat plate down tight enough to secure the drive belt.
Presto!!!

OK, yeah I can do that. I can glue a section of belt to some flat Al, and bolt that to my machine. Cool, thanks.

Is it possible to share the photo of belt connection ? I would like to know this concept.

When I get it working, I'll see if I can post a photo. I have to go buy a small length of belt from Mcmaster Carr first.
