View Full Version : Gcode to DXF? balsaman 04-24-2003, 12:38 AM Ok I have seen DXF to gcode converters, but what about the other way around? Eric hardmill 04-24-2003, 12:47 AM I know in Mastercam as well as others you can save your toolpath then convert it to DXF.:p E-Stop 04-24-2003, 06:49 AM There are editors, such as CNCEdit, that can back plot your toolpaths. You will be able to see where a tool has made a cut but not really the part geometry. balsaman 04-24-2003, 12:44 PM Lets say someonesends me a gcode file. I want to convert it to dxf, scale or modify the lines, then convert back to gcode. Can Mastercam open a NC file and display the tool path that can be converted to geometry and saved as DXF? Eric Mortek 04-25-2003, 01:05 AM I don't know about mastercam, but I know OneCnc or Bobcad both will do this, and they are low cost systems. In OneCnc you just use backplot wireframe. And all your tool paths in the program will be place on a layer and you could save them in any format you want. You just have to remember that the tool offset is what is displayed not the actual part geometry. Ken hardmill 04-26-2003, 01:19 AM yes to your ? balsaman cadcam 04-28-2003, 12:58 AM balsaman to do this in mastercam we use a Reverse post to revert it back to NCI being mastercams Binary code prior to Gcode then we can backplot the path and save it is geo. We also can do this in our Predator Varifacation software taking the gcode checking it then outputing the toolpath info as a DXF. So there are many ways. balsaman 04-28-2003, 04:50 PM How do you do a reverse post? I don't see anywhere where I can open a NC file. I see NCI.... Eric Rekd 04-28-2003, 10:31 PM You use a post processor, rpfan.pst etc. (the 'r' being 'reverse') I think they still ship with 9.1 posts. balsaman 04-28-2003, 10:45 PM thanks, I will try that...:) Eric cadcam 04-30-2003, 06:40 PM There is one thing missing I have to get the info togeather. then you will q able to do this. |
