Hey guys, i purchased the A2ZCNC extended travel upgrades for the X and Y axis for the sherline 5400/5410 mill. I've take quite a bit of pictures of them, they are on my blog: http://simplewords.genexis.net/.

For those who already have the upgrades, how about sharing some of the problems faced? I haven't had much time on the upgraded mill yet, but in a week's time i'll be doing quite a bit of cutting.

H-m-m-m. What am I missing or can't get my head around here?

I very much like the idea of extended axes but it seems that on this type of setup you're limited by the distance between the column and the mill spindle so what's the benefit of the extended Y base?

you are right :)

Thats why the extended 2.2" headstock is for ;) it will increase the distant between the vertical column and the cutting bit. Now i have around 6.5" of Y axis cutting distant. I can continue to add another headstock to it to increase the cutting distant, but at the expense of have a very heavy head, which may cause it to droop.
