Hello all,

I need help in a bad way. I have practical cnc machine with a hypotherm 1000.

The problem:
When I try and move the z-axis down on the soft keys or the page down the z-axis raises. When I change to joystick mode it will move fine.

We checked the cable and it is fine. Any quick ideas? I have a rather large project that is slipping away unless I get it cut.

Sorry so vague.
Thanks in advance.

im really not familiar with your machine and software to control it,but could it be possible that the keys got changed or reasigned so to speak,in mach you can change the keys, just a thought,is there a parameter page or setup page for the keys, check it out first, good luck

bumbalow,
Hello,
In the wincnc settings there is a place to change the direction of the z but if it goes the right way with the "pendant" then something sounds strange.
Do you have the automatic torch-height control?

In athc or software mode, when you push the pagedown button it will raise the z-axis, when you push page up it will raise the z-axis.

In joystick mode it works fine and I can raise and lower the z-axis with no problem.

I checked the cables; no problem, I replaced the chips on the z-axis board.
(the 555 and the 4093b)

Any ideas???

Is this something new or has it always been that way?
In the wincnc.ini file you can change things like direction of motors but if it works different ways for joystick vs. page-up/page-dwn that is strange. I think you can re-map the keys also in the wincnc.ini file.
Do you have the manual for wincnc?
If not you can download it on line. just search wincnc, I think the company is microsystems.

Thanks

Do you use it for routing too? I could see that being a real problem.
In the ini file you can set things like your start stop delay. so if you want to just import a dxf file and cut, your plasma pierce time and end delay will be pre-set which is nice.
How old is yours? Mine is ~ 3years old with steppers and I do routing and plasma with mine all the time. Also with the hypertherm 1000.
