Being that I am still fairly new to the programming side of things and that I have never ran a yasnac based controller (I do see a lot of them for sale though) I was wondering what the differences were between the two controllers?

Our Mori MV40 has a Yasnac controller. The gcode is very similar (if not identical) to the Fanucs I've seen. I believe that Yasnac is a low cost alternative to the Fanuc monopoly.

The operator interface is another story. Selecting programs, uploading and downloading programs, data entry. Completely different on a Yasnac.

For example, the famliar INPUT / INPUT+ Fanuc style data entry becomes a global ABS/REL mode on the Yasnac. Bad things happen when you're in ABS mode and you think you've just added .001 to an offset.

The Yasnac has a few other quirks, some minor annoyances.

Takes some getting used to.
