hello all
Just wondering I there were anyone from Republic of Ireland or the UK, but mainly the Republic who has imported a Chinese Laser. Who did you pick and what was the experience like with the customs and vat people. As I understand it you have to add 26% to get the price you really pay at the end. How did you handle the forwarding to your premisies. I you bought in something else like a mill or whatever . How did you fare with it ?

(This as of course hoping that I am not the only Irish guy here)

to get price you pay in ireland is this

Price at port (CIF not FOB)+ 26% import duty and then +21% VAT on top
for example made up prices
€2000 + 26%(520) + 21%VAT (529.2)= €3049.2 = ripoff ireland at its best.

simple way
CIF(euros) * 1.5246 = (you've been ripped)

if done in dollers rember to convert to euros
