Has anyone had any experience with the fine cut plasmas? Maybe on a table? We are looking at a CNC plasma but really are bordering on Laser for the work we do. I have heard rumors of fine cut heads and smaller kerf and more accuracy. Any info here?

I can't tell how it works on a table for about another 4 weeks when mine arrives, but cutting by hand and fixtures, I think they work great, have had good results with my Hypertherm 1250 and there fine cut tooling. Will let you know when my new table arrives. Stay tuned

Hello,
I use Hypertherm fine-cut tips all the time, I have cut up to 1-1/2" thick steel with a HT 1000 @ 60 amps. No pierce just edge start. I do pierce 1/2" ss with the fine-cuts though. The edge quality is great on carbon steel. I usuallly offset ~.045" in 1/4" and on thinner gauge materials the offset has been as small as .02" to get parts the right size. I have been able to hold +/- .01" tolerance on parts.

We have a 4 x 8 torchmate with a 1000 hypertherm. We cut everything from carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, even expanded metal. Thickness has been everything between .03 and 1". We are very pleased with the fine cutting consumables, but have found that they work better with thinner material.
