OK, I've successfully generated toolpaths before, and now I can't get MadCAM to load (Rhino 3). I have a new design I wanted to try, but can't get MadCAM working. Every time I try to generate a workspace I get the error that I must select a "surface or solid". The thing is, I HAVE selected a solid!

On the chance that there was something wrong with my solid that MadCAM didn't like, I created an NEW drawing with just a sphere in it. I select the sphere so that it is yellow highlighted and click "New Box". No luck! I get the same error. If selecting a solid sphere is not going to work, nothing will!

Any ideas?

You are right . A sphere should be recognized and it is in my version 3 . I don't understand "click new box". Pardon me for being to simplistic but here is the procedure.

Load Madcam by clicking top icon.
select your surface or solid when asked at the command line.
Click enter.
Surface or solid then will have a stock box in green outline around it.

I had a problem (since solved) with somehow losing an open gl driver that Madcam needs but that would not let Madcam load at all so it is a similar and related problem. I have that driver file if that turns out to be the problem .

If your problem persists, email Joakim and he will fix it. He is very responsive .

OK, I re-installed it and now I have no problem. Guess it was just a Windoze problem.
