Guangzhou/Stuttgart, July 9, 2007. From June 15 – 18, 2007, the 8th GIMT+AMB
China 2007 was held at the Guanzhou International Commodities Fairground. After
evaluating the results of the trade fair, the organiser announced that the 8th
GIMT+AMB China continued to grow on a stable path.
The exhibition saw 462 national and international companies presenting their latest
machine tool and metalworking innovations on a exhibition area of 15,727 sqm. More
than 15,000 visitors, including 7% international guests, came across the exhibition
during the three days. Compared to last year, when 412 exhibitors showcased their
products, the 8th GIMT+AMB China has increased its volume by 10%.
To hold the GIMT+AMB China in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong, is an
important part of the organiser’s concept. As host of all major production industries
like automotive, IT and electronics, Guangdong province is the perfect location for a
machine tool and metal working exhibition. Therefore the 8th GIMT+AMB China 2007
could successfully establish itself as a meeting point of the ancillary and
manufacturing industries in South China.
Hu Yua, Chief Engineer of Ningjiang Machine Tools explained: “We are very happy
to see that the GIMT+AMB China is developing towards a major, specialized
machine tool show in Guangzhou – the centre of the machine tool market in South
China.”
“For international companies it becomes more and more important to obtain market
insight in the booming areas of China and present their technology to the TOP
decision makers,” states Bernhard Mueller, Division Director of Messe Stuttgart
International. “Therefore the close cooperation with GIMT in Guangzhou fits perfectly
well in our strategic concept of establishing Messe Stuttgart in the middle of
international markets.”
Kaus M. Hilligardt, Chief Executive Officer of BMC AG, expressed that he is very
satisfied with the results of the 2007 event and explained: “With its AMB joint stand,
Messe Stuttgart contributed decisively to the internationalisation of the exhibition and
we are very glad that this successful cooperation will be continued on the
GIMT+AMB China 2008.”
For the upcoming event, the organisers expect more than 500 exhibitors on a total
area of 20,000 square meters on Guangzhou’s state-of-the-art fairground.
Furthermore, the organisers announced that from 2008 on a two-day conference will
be created. This high level meeting point will attract the opinion-leaders and
decision-makers for technology investments in the machine tool and metalworking
industry. Speakers will mostly come from international key players of the industry,
leading research centers and trade associations.
The GIMT+AMB China 2007 is organised by the German media company Business
Media China AG and its Chinese partner BMC Zhenwei, a partnership that joins
exhibition experience of more than 30 years.
BMC is an international stock exchange listed media company, which combines key
competences in exhibition organisation, trade publishing, and advertising media
solutions. BMC Zhenwei Exhibitions is among the three leading private exhibition
organisers in China and was the first Chinese exhibition company to be accepted as
a member of the Union des Foies Internationales (UFI).
