I just got a DYNA MECHTRONICS DM3000 CNC lathe. I have not picked up the lathe yet, but will soon. I am looking for some projects to get me stared on the lathe. I am looking for projects that will help me learn how to use CNC lathe functions. I don't know a lot about the machine but it is a bench top lathe of about 8"x12". If there is a section of the forum that is for new to CNC like me that has projects or books for us, please let me know. Or post pics of projects, blue prints/drafts. Cool paperweights and things like that. Even practical stuff that can be used. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rick

My first lathe programming excersize was trailer hitch balls. Really PO'd the boss when I polished them with diamond polishing paste.

Why dont you try to make a morse taper tool to fit the lathe or mill you may have. Another great thing to do after learning to make the taper is make collet chuck to fit your lathe. It is a useful tool that will definiteyly be used at some point in time.
