I'm new to CNC so please bare with me, I want to change my controls I'm not sure which version of boss I have, the mill came with with a programing manual and a bridgeport manual but either is clear on what version I have.
So my Idea is to hook up the mill with an Americian Rotary 7.5 hp rotary phase converter see what works what doesn't then install hillbilly breakout board buy Mach sofware (not sure which version) to control the mill through my computer. Can I still use the same servo's? also what cad/cam software should I look at again I'm brand new to CNC.

Well if you’re plugging in a computer to your machine and your plain is to use Cam software on your computer,,,, just leave the boss operating system alone! It will be fine. Then your next dilemma is to decide what Cam system floats your boat! Some software offers a wide assortment of bells & whistles but in the end all that matters is will they deliver what you need to have? Really only you can decide that. Happy hunting!
